Two Immediate Prison Chaplaincy Vacancies

 
GraceInside (Virginia’s Prison Chaplain Service) has two immediate prison chaplaincy vacancies.
Both are part-time positions (87 hours per month or approximately 20 hours per week).
Keen Mountain Correctional Center in Buchanan County, VA.
Bland Correctional Center in Bland County, VA.
Qualified candidates (1) must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university; (2) must have a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent degree from an accredited seminary; (3) must be ordained by and in good standing with their denomination or church; (4) where applicable, should be endorsed as a chaplain by their denomination’s endorsing body; (5) CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) units a plus (though not mandatory); (6) church ministry experience helpful; (7) experience working or ministering in a jail or prison setting a major plus; (8) must be willing to promote the ministry of GraceInside to nearby churches, ministries and civic groups.  Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume and application to GraceInside: 2828 Emerywood Parkway; Richmond, VA 23294 by Monday, April 17th. GraceInside has an immediate opening for a part-time (20 hours) Development Assistant.

This half-time position based in the Richmond office of GraceInside will have responsibility for all the administrative duties of Development. The Development Assistant will report to and work very closely with the Director of Development on campaigns, donor relations, communications and public relations. The Development Assistant will assist with all donor data entry, direct mail, email and fundraising campaigns, quarterly reports, eNewsletters and Impact Updates. In addition, the Development Assistant will maintain the GraceInside website and all social media outlets. Some in-state travel may be required. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Four year degree
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy with exceptionally accurate attention to detail
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs
  • Experienced in social media and website maintenance
  • Prefer experience with a DMS
  • Prefer experience with MailChimp and WordPress
  • High degree of personal integrity
  • Ability to manage confidential information
  • Experience with customer service a plus
