Chaplains Clifton Cauthorne (Red Onion State Prison) and Randy Reagan (Wallens Ridge State Prison) traveled to the American Council of Christian Churches’ Annual Convention held on October 25-27, 2022 in Carlisle, PA.  The ACCC is their endorsing agency. Chaplain Cauthorne shared with us:  “It was a blessing and encouragement to be in general sessions and workshops that will benefit us in our prison ministry.”

One of the speakers, Pastor Steve Spence, spoke on Jesus’ Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20. It was a reminder to Chaplains that their main duty is to help inmates, soldiers and others connect with God through Christ. This high calling can get lost in the many duties a Chaplain has, but Christian Chaplains are actually unnecessary if this central purpose is neglected.
