On July 19th, there were TWO bittersweet meetings/events held at Lakewood Manor in Henrico. First, during the day there was Dr. John Upton’s final annual meeting with all of the BGAV Agency Executives (including our President, Rev. J. Randy Myers). Then in the evening there was a two-part dinner celebration honoring John and promoting Ascent, a major new ministry focus that the BGAV has launched.
John served as the Executive Director of the BGAV (Baptist General Association of Virginia) for over 20 years! He retired as of the end of July 2022. What a legacy John has left. He has been such an advocate and strong supporter of GraceInside over the decades (along with so many other wonderful ministries and initiatives). We praise God for this amazing man and for his ministry! Congratulations on your retirement, John. You will be greatly missed by all at the BGAV and by all of us in the GraceInside Family!
