On June 29, 2023, we had the pleasure to meet with Pastor Jason Nicholas (The Chapel RVA – Scott’s Addition Campus) and with former GraceInside Chaplain David Cheyne (Founder/Director of the “Bridge2Hope” Ministry). Chapel RVA currently has two campuses in Midlothian, one in Richmond, and a new campus that will begin in Moseley in September. Chapel RVA was given permission some time ago to begin live streaming their weekly worship service into the Chesterfield County Jail. Then more recently Chapel RVA became the first church in Virginia to receive permission from the Virginia Department of Corrections to show its weekly worship services in all 42 Virginia state correctional facilities (utilizing DVD’s and the closed circuit DOC “religion channel” at the facilities; shortly thereafter the DOC granted permission for the multi-campus Passion Community Church to also show its weekly services via DVD’s). What a great opportunity for incarcerated men and women to “participate” in exciting worship and to hear solid, practical, biblical preaching and teaching! Chaplain David said that Bridge2Hope is all about “transforming lives one at a time.” GraceInside and our Chaplains look forward to many years of fruitful partnership with both Chapel RVA and Passion Community Church (PCC)! (PCC has also established two “live” campuses within DOC facilities. The first – for men – is at Nottoway Correctional Center, and the second – for women – has just been established at the Virginia Correctional Center for Women in Goochland, VA.)

Sarah’s mental health issues and drug addiction led her to make many terrible choices – and eventually she ended up in a Virginia state prison.
